At Moritis Shin Dentistry, we believe in supporting our local community, and that includes the incredible restaurants that make downtown Seattle special. As your local Seattle dental office, we love recommending great places for our patients to enjoy a meal before or after their dental visit. Here are some of our favorite restaurants near our practice in downtown Seattle!
Unfortunately, you will not find a pizza or bagel on this list, as our doctor is from New York...
Vivienne’s Bistro – Best New Downtown Restaurant
📍 Location: 602 Union St, Seattle, WA. (7 minute walk from our office)
🍽 Why We Love It: This well-known establishment from Mercer Island has now arrived to downtown Seattle, bringing a modern take on classic Chinese dishes with surprising touches! Fresh ingredients, well-balanced, and friendly staff.
⭐ Must-Try Dish: Forbidden Roast Duck and Dong Po Rou, a 24-hour slow braised pork belly
Cheese Room – A Hidden Gem in Downtown Seattle
📍 Location: 1215 Pine St, Seattle, WA. (12 minute walk from our office)
🍽 Why We Love It: The entrance of the restaurant is a bar, so people may just pass by during dinner time. As the name suggests, they are serious about their cheeses, including where each cheese are from. Their dishes are well thought-out and utilizes the flavor profiles of their cheeses well.
⭐ Must-Try Dish: Pecorino Toscano, Italy (Italian meat ball, ricotta, truffle salt grilled bread), Grana Padano, Italy (Fresh campanelle, black truffle, and prosciutto), Gouda 5 years, Netherlands (Fresh pappardelle, veal ragu)
Midori Teriyaki – Best Take-Out Lunch
📍 Location: 1120 Howell St, Seattle, WA. (9 minute walk from our office)
🍽 Why We Love It: The take-out lunch category is a must, as we have many Seattle patients in the corporate grind. This spot includes American teriyaki originated from Seattle, so we had to include it in our local favorites. It offers smoky, saucy, dishes with huge portions just a perfect take-out lunch (but you're definitely going to have a food coma).
⭐ Must-Try Dish: Garlic spicy combo (with rice + gyoza or egg roll + salad)
Ben Paris – Favorite Brunch Spot
📍 Location: 1130 Pike St, Seattle, WA. (7 minute walk from our office)
🍽 Why We Love It: Brunch is breakfast that slept in, lunch that got fancy, and it makes it perfectly okay to have pancakes and mimosa at the same time. This restaurant checks all the boxes. From decor to their service, everything falls into place. They also have a great happy hour, but we recommend to come for their brunch first.
⭐ Must-Try Dish: Ricotta pancakes, Wagyu Burger
Le Panier – Best Coffee & Dessert
📍 Location: 1902 Pike Pl, Seattle, WA. (9 minute walk from our office)
🍽 Why We Love It: It's a classic Pike Place establishment. Although we didn’t want to be cliche, their pastries are some of the best in town. Their attention to detail on where they import their flour to butter makes this French bakery in Pike Place different. Arguably, it’s as close you can get to croissants and pastries from Paris.
⭐ Must-Try Dish: Pistachio eclair, financier, almond croissant
The Pink Door – Top Date Night Spot in Seattle
📍 Location: 1919 Post Alley, Seattle, WA. (9 minute walk from our office)
🍽 Why We Love It: Reservations are heavily recommended for this one, as getting a table can be challenging at the Pink Door. This restaurant has great ambiance, great food, and great views of the Sound. It’s a perfect place to spend time with your loved ones for any occasion.
⭐ Must-Try Dish: Squid Ink Tonnarelli, Lasagna Pink Door
Kobuta & Ookami Katsu – Best Comfort Food
📍 Location: 121 15th Ave E, Seattle, WA. (9 mins DRIVE from office)
🍽 Why We Love It: Katsu may not be considered a go-to comfort food for many, but you’ll see what we mean once you try their menu. This Japanese comfort food restaurant uses high quality protein and great techniques to make sure panko is crispy and the meat juicy. This Seattle katsu spot is as close as it can get to Tokyo!
⭐ Must-Try Dish: Hire Katsu (tenderlon), Ebi Katsu (Prawn), Katsu Nabe
